As I sit here getting ready to write the last She Found Joy devotional of 2020, there is so much I could share and talk about. It goes without saying there has never been another year quite like this one. I don’t think any of us could have foreseen what was around the corner when the clock struck midnight on January 1, 2020.
And yet, here we are. By the grace of God, we made it to the end of December. Let us take a moment to reflect on what a gift this is — I recognize not everyone was as fortunate to make it through this tumultuous year. Several of my friends have lost loved ones, and I could tell you stories of countless others who, while they are still alive, resemble something like the walking dead.
The temptations to fall into despair, depression, disappointment, disillusionment, doubt, fear, unbelief, anger, etc. have been plenty this year. If you feel stuck in any of those places right now, I want you to know there is no condemnation for those who are Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). But our Father wants better for all of us. He doesn’t want us to stay trapped in emotions the enemy has cornered us into. He wants us to break free and arise to new heights with Him by the empowerment of His Spirit.
As we prepare to enter into 2021, it’s time to rise above the hurt and the noise and enter into His presence.
The thief always comes to steal, kill and destroy. We’ve seen plenty of that in 2020. But Jesus came so that we could have LIFE and have it more abundantly (John 10:10).
Beloved, if your heart is hurting today, I want you to know you are not alone. Jesus sits and weeps with you in your pain. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are — yet he did not sin (Hebrews 4:15). At the same time, as He sits with you, He wants to bring healing to whatever part of you needs it.
I hear the Holy Spirit saying, “Let every heart prepare Him room.”
No matter what you’ve walked through this year, Jesus came down to this earth more than 2,000 years ago so that today, He could take up residence in your heart.
JOY, LOVE, HEALING, PEACE, COMFORT AND LIFE came to the world through the person of Jesus, and that joy, love, healing, peace, comfort and life now lives on the inside of us through the Holy Spirit.
He didn’t have to come. He didn’t have to leave heaven. But He did. And He died an excruciating death. All so that He could redeem us from the curse, save us — body, soul and spirit — and make His home in our hearts.
What do you need this Christmas? Do you need joy? Hope? Healing? Love? Provision? Comfort? Jesus is here and He is waiting for you to come to Him and receive whatever you need.
May your heart prepare Him room to come and do what only He can do.
MINISTRY YEAR IN REVIEW
Normally, She Found Joy hosts in-person events in the fall of every calendar year. Before COVID-19 swept across the world, our team felt the Holy Spirit telling us not to plan anything for 2020. Now we know why we felt that so strongly in our spirits. Despite not being able to host our normal roster of events this year, the ministry is still making a huge impact for the kingdom.
As we close out the ministry’s third year of serving others, we want to give a huge thank you to our donors who have supported us this year. Were it not for you, we would not have been able to meet operating costs for the ministry for keeping the website, podcast and weekly emails live. Thank you.
Because of you, thousands of lives continue to be impacted each month. Here’s a breakdown of who we’ve been able to reach this year:
-
55,710 Podcast Downloads

Once again, thank you for your continued support of this ministry. While we hope to be doing events at some point again in the future, we are grateful for the way God continues to use She Found Joy to bring the truth of the gospel to thousands around the world.
