One year ago, I was confined to a wheelchair after complications with a medical procedure. I was diagnosed with complex regional pain syndrome, better known as CRPS. After struggling through doctor’s appointments, pain, and all the things that come with not being able to walk, I found myself at a crossroad. I had a choice to make. During this time of uncertainty, I could either struggle to fight on my own or I could fight these battles hand in hand with my Creator.
Right now, many of you are dealing with a similar situation. While you may not be crippled by your legs, you may be crippled by fear and anxiety. The pandemic that our world is currently facing is leading so many of us to believe the lie that our omnipresent God is not with us.
Friend, let me tell you right now that you are not alone. In whatever you are facing today — fear, loss of a loved one, anxiety, depression, financial burdens, health issues — your Creator, God Almighty, Jehovah Jireh is with you. He is holding your hand. He’s telling you right now, Trust me. I can see the bigger picture. This will make you stronger. You can lean on Him for He is a faithful God. Amen! The Bible tells us in Isaiah 41:10, “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with my righteous right hand.”
However, sometimes we choose to not trust in the Lord as Proverbs 3:5 tells us to do. There are times when we arrive at a crossroad and choose to walk the path without Christ. Our pride fights to be right. We want to prove that we can do it on our own, that we can survive without help. If you choose this path, you will be a wanderer searching for the light. While wandering down your own road, you may think God, why did you leave me? Why have you left me all alone? When this time comes, I want you to remember that our God is a God who keeps His promises. He said that He would never leave you. Friend, the Lord has never and will never leave us; we are the ones who leave Him.
Today if you find yourself arriving at a crossroads in your life, I, first, want to tell you that if you choose to walk this alone, you will be on the path of destruction. However, if you turn from this way, like the prodigal son whom we can read about in Luke 15:11-32, the Lord will always welcome you just as you are with open arms. He will embrace you with His lavishing love as you rest your head on His shoulders. Secondly, I want to encourage you that if you find yourself wondering why God has withdrawn Himself from you, I promise you He hasn’t left. Deuteronomy 31:8 says, “The Lord is the one who will go before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or abandon you. Do not be afraid or discouraged.” He loves you, friend. You are not alone in this battle.

While I was reading your post it got me to realize that I am not alone and that God is with us through the easy and through the hard time no matter what the situation involves. God is our creator and he will always be there no matter what. You are strong and powerful lady Karsyn Whitt. Thank you for your encouraging words.
